Dental veneers are an alternative to crowns and caps for teeth that are healthy but irregularly shaped, broken, chipped, or misaligned. They can also be used to improve the appearance of discolored teeth that do not respond to traditional whitening treatments.
If you are unhappy with your smile, dental veneers may be a good option for you. For a limited time, Elite Dental Care in Naples is offering a discount on Smile Makeovers with up to 8 veneers (or crowns if needed).
Veneers are very thin shells that are bonded to the tooth to provide the desired color and shape. When preparing teeth for veneers, Dr. Chavez takes a conservative approach which aims to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible. Patients who get veneers end up with a natural tooth appearance that is well-tolerated by the gums and also resistant to future stains.
What to Expect
Before dental veneers can be placed on the teeth, the surface of the teeth must be prepared for bonding. You will be numbed then the dentist will buff away approximately half a millimeter from the surface of the teeth. Because one of our main values at Elite Dental Care is preserving natural teeth, Dr. Chavez is very cautious and conservative at this step of treatment.
After the surface is prepared, we will take an impression of your teeth. That impression is used to create your custom fitted veneers. When they are ready, you will return to the office to have them fitted, bonded, and any necessary adjustments for shape and color made.
Veneers do not require any special care. Normal brushing and flossing can be resumed immediately after placement. Because veneers are usually placed over the course of two appointments, it is normal to experience some sensitivity between the first and second visit when the teeth have been reduced in preparation for bonding.
